20% off storewide Friday and Saturday!
Once again this year, The Electric Fetus offers nothing you need at 4 a.m., but everything you want at 9 a.m. On Friday, November 27th from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. and Saturday, November 28th from 9 a.m. to 8 p.m., almost everything in the store is 20% off. (Discount does not apply to tickets, tobacco, gift cards, Mix & Burn CDs and any product already sale-priced, including Black Friday Exclusives.)
As in years past, Black Friday 2015 will be full of special releases. These releases are often extremely collectible -- made in small, limited runs and/or pressed on colored vinyl -- and are only available at independent record stores on Black Friday.
With any special event like this, we want to make it enjoyable for everyone and try to ensure that everyone who comes has a fair chance to get get something from their list. To that end, we've set just a few guidelines: There will be a limit of 7 items per person on Black Friday releases (only 1 copy of any particular title allowed.) We will not be able to hold any Black Friday product, and because of the limited nature of the releases, we can't guarantee specific titles will be in stock. If there is a line prior to opening at 9 a.m., we will start handing out numbers to those in line around 8:30 a.m. to ensure everyone's safety and avoid a mad rampage.

Things We Do at Night (Live From Texas) is the new live album and concert film from Blue October. It is their fourth live album, and eleventh album overall. The album was recorded over Thanksgiving weekend, November 28-20, 2014 at the House of Blues in Dallas, Texas. The set features fan favorites and hit songs from the albums Foiled, Approaching Normal, Any Man in America, and Sway, which were released since the band's previous concert film Argue with a Tree... in 2004. The album takes its name from the song "Things We Do At Night" from the Sway album, which the band played to close their concerts on each night of the Sway tour.
THE BEACH BOYS - Beach Boys' Party! Uncovered And Unplugged [2CD] - Capitol
Beach Boys' Party! was the tenth studio album by The Beach Boys and was mostly cover songs. When originally recorded, the band invited friends and family into the studio for a party. Those sounds were then layered over the recorded music for a true party sound. Uncovered And Unplugged now strips away those party sounds so that the true sessions can be heard in their entirety. This special 2 disc set pairs the original album with the newly restored audio, outtakes and dialog.

Author Rick Shefchik - "Everybody's Heard About the Bird..." Book Release Party & Jam Session
An all-star lineup of some of the most successful and accomplished rock ‘n’ roll musicians in Twin Cities history will join Rick Shefchik as he introduces his new book, "Everybody’s Heard About the Bird: The True Story of 1960s Rock 'n' Roll in Minnesota," at the Electric Fetus on Wednesday, November 11, at 7 p.m.
Rick will host a discussion and jam session with Tony Andreason of the Trashmen (“Surfin Bird”), Dale Menten and Tom Klugherz of the Gestures (“Run, Run, Run”), Jim Johnson and Doni Larson of the Underbeats and Gypsy (“Footstompin’,” “Gypsy Queen”), Jim Donna of the Castaways (“Liar, Liar”), Larry Wiegand of the Rave-Ons, South 40 and Crow (“Evil Woman”), Phil Berdahl of the Stillroven, Ron Butwin of the Escapades and Mike Waggoner of the Bops. Afterwards, Rick and the musicians will sign copies of the book.
"Everybody's Heard about the Bird" is the first comprehensive history to trace the evolution of Minnesota 1960s rock and roll. This behind-the-scenes, up-close-and-personal account relates how a handful of Minnesota rock bands erupted out of a small Midwest market and made it big. From Augie Garcia and Bobby Vee to The Trashmen and the Castaways, "Everybody’s Heard about the Bird" reveals how this monumental era of Minnesota rock music in the 1960s evolved.
This event is free and open to all ages. We hope you'll join us for this very special evening.
