More Info:
Steven Golliday is a bonafide multimedia artist. He is a musician, as well as an Emmy Award-winning documentary film editor (King in the Wilderness, HBO, Dreamland: The Burning of Black Wall Street, CNN Films). Golliday’s dual passions inform each other. His songs unfold cinematically and rich with meaning; his editing is embedded with groove and lyricism.
Golliday’s deft touch for composition, production and narrative are on full display for his debut EP, Funhouse Horizon, a tapestry of soul, jazz and post-rock threads. Golliday wrote all the songs and held down vocals, bass and keys.
His keen sense of finding simpatico collaborators has borne fruit with contributions from drummers Dana Buoy (Dana Buoy, Akron/Family) and Matt Mayhall (Aimee Mann, Jeff Parker), who, along with Golliday’s bass playing, form the rhythmic soil for thriving harmonies and melodies.
Golliday is a Los Angeles native, having spent a dozen years in NYC, and now based in the rich creative scene of Portland, Oregon.
