Electric Fetus

Hanna Sikasa - Sequel / Sequel" is what Afro-German singer and composer Hanna Sikasa calls her new album: "Fortsetzung". One could therefore think of it as a continuation of her debut album "Origin". A continuation of her path to success, which was abruptly interrupted by the pandemic in a decisive phase. A con-tinuation of her artistic process, which she herself describes for the album as follows: "The songs tell of letting go and growing, of the search for one's own identity, of loneliness and deep connec-tion, sometimes also of saying goodbye - perhaps simply of growing up. And yet "Sequel" is also a premiere. Origin" was released without a label and only digitally and on vinyl, so now we can speak of a debut CD. Above all, however, we can now experience a Hanna Sikasa who has matured once again, who has honed herself as a singer and composer just as much as she has honed the proven and new material, which is rounded off on the album to form a re-markable whole. If the Süddeutsche Zeitung already wrote about her in 2019: "Catchy me-lodies, but sung and arranged in a complex way, with poppy clarity, jazzy timbre and poetic, sometimes almost hypnotic lyrics, that is Sikasa's already quite distinctive recipe", she has now brought her music even more succinctly to the point. Sequel" is the culmination of Hanna Sikasa's career. Born and raised in Augsburg, she is the daugh-ter of a Kenyan and a Swiss, who as a child simply wanted to make music and sing. She had piano lessons throughout her school years, and after graduating from high school, she decided to study music. More like pop, but one infused with jazz, soul and R'n'B elements, never arbitrary, always quite personal. Music that stands out so recognizably that Sikasa received the Music Prize of the City of Augsburg for it in 2017 and a music scholarship from the City of Munich in 2018.

"Available to Order" on electricfetus.com does not necessarily reflect 'in stock' at our retail location, however it means we have quick order fulfillment (generally 2-3 business days). If you place an order for "in-store pickup" or "curbside pickup" you will receive an email when your order is ready. It may take several days over a weekend or if the item isn't in stock. Orders containing titles that aren't released yet will be shipped together in full when the pre-order is released.

Customs forms for international orders are marked as "merchandise" and we are not responsible for any additional customs fees when packages arrive at their destination country. Some items on our website aren't able to be shipped outside the U.S. Foreign orders for those items will be refunded. Box sets and books may incur an additional shipping fee for international orders. You will be emailed if there is an additional charge before your order is processed. Due to new VAT laws, we are unable to ship to the UK, Norway, Brazil, and the 27 countries in the EU. For orders shipped to forwarding shipping facilities, we are not responsible for the items once they reach that destination. Priority shipping might not be available for large box sets. We will contact orders if we can't honor priority shipping on those items and a refund for the postage will be issued.

We reserve the right to limit quantities on special items. We offer free U.S. shipping for orders of $75+ (USPS media mail for music and books/USPS first class or priority for other items)
