Electric Fetus

Released in March 1993, The London Suede's self-titled debut was a critical and commercial triumph, winning the prestigious Mercury Music Prize for Album Of The Year and hitting the #1 spot on the UK Album Chart. Featuring the classic singles 'The Drowners', 'Animal Nitrate', 'So Young', and 'Metal Mickey', 'The London Suede' sold 100,000 copies in it's first week, making it the fastest-selling debut album ever in the UK at the time. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of this landmark album, Edsel is proud to present this newly-mastered edition of the album. "It was a genuinely magical time in my life and one for which I'll always be grateful It felt incredible being in what I thought was quite probably the most exciting band in the world at the time, making a record which felt like more than just another band making another album." - Brett Anderson "30 years ago, this is where it all began A mixture of the live songs that had won us a following and our first experiments in the studio Listening back now it still has that sense of wildness, and drama, and possibility of those early days So young and so gone, indeed!" - Mat Osman The album has been newly mastered by Phil Kinrade at AIR from the original ½" tapes and production masters, overseen and approved by producer Ed Buller. The nine B-sides are now included on a second CD, along with a cover of 'Brass in Pocket', recorded for an NME covermount cassette. In recent times, Brett has commented that in hindsight, he would have included some of the B-sides in the album's tracklisting. The two CDs are presented in brand new seven-inch deluxe gatefold packaging, with an 8-page booklet which includes the lyrics and credits.

Some items on our website aren't able to be shipped outside the U.S. Foreign orders for those items will be refunded. Box sets and books may incur an additional shipping fee for international orders. You will be emailed if there is an additional charge before your order is processed. Due to new VAT laws, we are unable to ship to the UK, Norway, Brazil, and the 27 countries in the EU.
