Electric Fetus

Partners, Sisters and Friends. Partner Look are a Melbourne-based band made up of German sisters Ambrin (Cool Sounds) and Anila Hasnain (Studio Magic), who are joined by their partners Dainis Lacey (Cool Sounds) and Lachlan Denton (The Ocean Party). The members also share a history of friendship and musical bonds. Trouble In Mind (in conjunction with Spunk/Osbourne Again in Australia) is honored to be releasing "By The Book" - the band's debut - a twelve-track charmer that swoons and smirks with a scrappy, yet sophisticated take on sparkling indie pop. Partner Look first got together to write the song 'Jana', a virtual wedding celebration fortheir family friend whose wedding they couldn't attend in person. Wanting to believe that the hit single sent ripples through the Rhineland's music scene, Partner Look continuedwriting songs and playing live shows across Melbourne. "By The Book" was recorded in a short window in May 2020, when Melbourne's lockdown was loosened for a few months, allowing five people at home. It was recorded in a studio built by Lachlan and Dainis in Dainis' and Ambrin's garage in Brunswick. Lachlan recorded all his drum-parts playing withthe whole band in one go. The rest of the band re-recorded and edited their parts in the following three weeks. Dainis engineered it and Liam "Snowy" Haillwell mixed and masteredall tracks. The band is a vehicle for all members to share their own song ideas and collaborativelyprogress them in an open and encouraging space. However, misunderstandings oftenunderpin the creative process, as the band name exemplifies. Partnerlook is a Germanexpression referring to two people wearing similar or matching outfits. After years of usingthe pseudo-anglicism to compliment friends wearing matching outfits, who must have beentoo polite to ask, Dainis and Lachlan finally wondered: 'what do you mean withPartnerlook?!' Partner Look's music often questions place, belonging and the relationshipto 'home' in a connected and sometimes disconnected world, focusing on where we differand where we, as humans, are inherently similar. "By The Book" is released on CD & LP (a limited "baby blue" vinyl version is availablewhile supplies last) & available to download and/or stream on all available DSPs.

"Available to Order" on electricfetus.com does not necessarily reflect 'in stock' at our retail location, however it means we have quick order fulfillment (generally 2-3 business days). If you place an order for "in-store pickup" or "curbside pickup" you will receive an email when your order is ready. It may take several days over a weekend or if the item isn't in stock. Orders containing titles that aren't released yet will be shipped together in full when the pre-order is released.

Customs forms for international orders are marked as "merchandise" and we are not responsible for any additional customs fees when packages arrive at their destination country. Some items on our website aren't able to be shipped outside the U.S. Foreign orders for those items will be refunded. Box sets and books may incur an additional shipping fee for international orders. You will be emailed if there is an additional charge before your order is processed. Due to new VAT laws, we are unable to ship to the UK, Norway, Brazil, and the 27 countries in the EU. Priority shipping might not be available for large box sets. We will contact orders if we can't honor priority shipping on those items and a refund for the postage will be issued.

We reserve the right to limit quantities on special items. We offer free U.S. shipping for orders of $75+ (USPS media mail for music and books/USPS first class or priority for other items)
